It's roomier, and leaves the 'downstairs' bench seat free for night owls and early risers, and we can leave the bedding on (the pillows fit perfect behind the fold-up part of the bed. Latch the top and ready to rock. And we don't have to unpack the back (behind the bench seat) of all the extraneous stuff that lives back there when we're camping. Also rather not have another bulky thing to pack/stow (e.g. separate topper) so we thought we'd just replace the 22 year old foam with something newer and a little more comfy if possible.
