I did install that valve behind the glove box to shut off the flow of coolant after
replacing the valve in the spare tire space. The heat began coming out of the vents
again a month later and that's why I resorted to doing that.
That has nothing to do with the "hot foot" problem at the accelerator pedal though.
I'm tempted to both use the foam pipe insulation AND something like B-Quiet
(I happen to have some) or other good quality heat/sound insulator to cut down on
the heat coming up through the floor in that area.
