Thanks to everyone who answered all my questions during my first 2.1 rebuild. I've been working on it for 2 months... it needed a lot. And special thanks to everyone who help me with parts. I got the engine in, just sitting there, in about 20 minutes last night start to finish, and that included . Very easy one-person job using a cheap block and tackle tied off to a stake to control the engine fore-and-aft as I used the other hand to operate the chain hoist. Today I bolted it in and connected everything. No problem, no events. Started right up. Tomorrow I will finish getting coolant finished and bleed the radiator. That 2.1--that's the toughest engine I've done yet. I've done about a dozen others from wet sleeve renaults to british sports cars to a 911. The next 2.1 will be a snap! It was about the easiest to R&R, though. Jim |
