Patti, I put an aftermarket sunroof in years ago and love it. I got it at an sunroof / auto upholstery shop here in the Bay Area and I think at the time it was about $120. It lifts completely out and lets me get to stuff in the luggage rack without having to open the poptop and go through the front screen window. I installed it myself and yes, the only thing to be worried about is keeping the latch on the new sunroof far enough away from the poptop bar when the bar is down. I centered my installation - and cut the new hole - using the VW hole which worked fine. Most places that sell these will install them. The dimensions are 15.25" x 29.5". That is the size of the glass measured from the top of the sunroof.
