I will try it after a couple more nights of blaster to be on the safe side. The word heli-coil scares me! ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ben Cichowski" <aquasheck@HOTMAIL.COM> To: <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> Sent: Sunday, August 17, 2008 1:02 AM Subject: Re: Exhaust studs
That was me, and on this list. I got into a wee bit of trouble for letting that secret out to the public... It works better than anything I have ever tried. I'll never buy pb blaster or any of those things again. Just as you said, just a bit of heat and a candle is all you need. Didn't read the original post, but if it is a stuck exhaust stud as the subject line implies, then the ol candle trick has already proven itself in that arena - go for it. -Ben > Date: Sat, 16 Aug 2008 22:39:31 -0400 > From: streib@CS.INDIANA.EDU > Subject: Re: Exhaust studs > To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM > > Can't remember if it was this list or another, but someone suggested > to free a frozen nut, heat it up with a torch and then touch a candle > to the threads.
