Hi,

There are lotsa' people selling what they claim is "memory foam". It's an advertising cliche these days.

The thing is to buy foam that works for you. We tried the really truly NASA-type memory foam (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Memory_foam) and found that it was wonderful to sleep on (it tops our at-home bed :- D) but is extremely heavy and so not suitable, in our opinion, for the Vanagon.

We had tried some eggshell-shaped foam from a coupla' sources, but our small sample source proved in both instances to be useless for increased sleeping comfort. So we kept looking, and ultimately found some 2" foam (not memory foam) that was light enough for Esme's top bunk but still offered B enough comfort overnight.
