Subject:      Grrrrr. What's the secret to removing the door panel?

'87 Westy passenger door inner panel.  I've removed the speaker, the window crank, the door grab handle and the ventilation grille at the lower rear.  It's the door latch handle that I can't figure out.  Bentley shows a little center cover with the black surround and what looks like a screw, but how to get to the screw without breaking anything is the question.  Thought I'd address the list before going any further, because it's at this point that stuff usually starts breaking.  Thanks!
