Thanks, guys. That was it and I discovered it while waiting for a reply. Trouble for me is not dropping it into the door but into the gravel driveway. Many a small fastener has vanished there.

The bride complains about the window binding when trying to crank it up, so the object of the exercise is to get that fixed. Regulator works fine, so I'm just lubing and reinstalling that, but not before using the last of the B-Quiet on the inside of the door for soundproofing. I also had to vacuum out the broken glass from the break-in the PO told me about.

It appears that the mounting plate on the bottom of the glass has the holes positioned so that the assembly cannot slide far enough forward and is therefore causing the binding, so Dremeling out the slots on the regulator plate to permit the window to move forward in the door looks like the way to go. More later. Thanks!
