They make good parts cars for VW vans such as the 1976 LT35. Same basic engine. As for the 1976 912E, they make good donors for aircooled Vanagons needing more horsepower. Though the basic engine is similar, the ones used in 912E's and 914-2.0's had about 10-15HP IIRC. It almost sounds as if 1976 was good year for VW/Porsche relations considering the engine swapping that happened that year.

Speaking of which... Why not install the 2.0 out of the early 924 in a Vanagon? That engine pushes my LT to an earthshaking 55mph on the downhills. =)
