Robert, that stuff is for microscopic pinholes in the rad. If you've got
chunks of rubber falling off, you need to either replace the gaskets or the
engine. Now is not the time to throw good money after bad, you need to
spend your money ONCE.
Around here the gasket replacement by the good shop will run ~ $1800.00 for
both heads. They also lap the valves and change out your hammered valve
lash adjusters for hardened ones while they are at it.
I would trust them to notice and repair any other thing they came across
while in process at additional cost. Which is why I think you should go
ahead and get a Boston Bob motor and put it in yourself. You will be able
to have complete confidence in the engine. The re and re procedure is not
all that tricky and there is plenty of experienced and talented help
available right here.
Order the motor and get busy building one of Zoltan's Magic Engine Winches -
then we'll help you get that Wasserleaker out of there so you'll be ready
when your new motor arrives.
You can do, we can help! Home Despot says it but can't deliver, we'll have
you driving that bus across America! :)
