Nowadays a 77 import into US should still be easy....since it's over 25 years old, mostly exempt from importation rules. Vehicles less than 25 years old (most Vanagons) are more difficult to import into USA. Make sure you get advice from someone who has done it recently before purchasing the Cdn van. Ideally someone importing into the same state as yours. Going the other way (US to Canada) is easy since Canada allows easy importation of 15 year old vehicles (all Vanagons).
