We have been through some serious rains here in the Midwest to include the great Spring Buses by the Beach Flood of '04 - the side extensions never seemed to be a problem with rain coming through. Maybe the angle is different from unit to unit? I think the ShadyBoy is one the coolest, most functional mods you can put on a bus. -- Pete '79 Westy "Aardvark" '87 Westy "Joe's Van" WWW.Busesbythebeach.com On Thu, Aug 28, 2008 at 12:30 PM, Tom Buese <tombuese@comcast.net> wrote: > On Aug 28, 2008, at 10:12 AM, Alistair Bell wrote: > > So noted. >> >> But boy its really nice not to have any poles/lines during calm days. >> > > Yeah, that was my 1st impression also, but the 1/4" dia. poles at > each end w/ 10' of awning in between doesn't restrict you as much as > the hold down ropes to the vanagon bumpers, & those aren't too bad IMHO. > > Pax, > > Mr. BZ > > > >> >> Alistair >> >> >> On 28-Aug-08, at 8:59 AM, Tom Buese wrote: >> >> I highly recommend using the optional poles-a serious down draft will >> bend your roof brackets & reduce the height of the cantilevered >> awning so that it is too low to walk under w/o the poles-ask me how I >> know. >> >> YMMV, >> >> Mr. BZ-used it last weekend w/ hold down ropes & poles >> > |
