That was very instructive to me, and provided sufficient motivation to swap the hoses when I got my '86 Westy. Lot's of folks have learned, now, from this list about the fuel hose danger - with many other personal accounts of disaster. With my '78, I can claim ignorance (and I hereby make that proclamation!). But having read these accounts here, and still not finding sufficient motivation to change your hoses, you'll likely be provided with a more *personal* object lesson in the future.
