What actually happens is that the cap gets blown out, too. They don't hold up nearly as long as the sensor! Also, be careful when ordering the system. You've got to get the type with barbs on it to hold the wire fastener on the plug, otherwise the plug will constantly fall off the sensor. I accepted such a replacement, and had to get another one with barbs.
