I've mounted one on the front side of the front seat pedestals, both driver's and px side. They mount on their own brackets attached with pan head sheet metal screws to the the pedestal. The snap strap holds them just fine. I've instructed my family on the Burning Vanagon Drill. Jump out, grab extinguishers, run to back of van and fire from underneath and perhaps through the side vents.
