ah, how quickly the young kids forget. ;) gerry skerbitz started the vanagon list because the original .net format was so slow ... like a web-based forum, in fact.

it's been a pretty good tool for a lot of years now. which is not to say that web-based stuff isn't useful ... just not quite as "responsive" sometimes.

caveat - me? i'm old. and set in my ways. don't even have a cell phone. ;)
