Ouch! Man you folks are tough! I give up. I've only loved/owned Vanagons since I bought a new one in '89 for my family, and we drove/camped for 10 years. Sure... had a lapse for a couple of soccer-mom years when they all pressured me to get something with less gas mileage. Won't even mention the assortment of prior livin' movers I had before I was supposed to become "respectable".

The only disagreement I have with any of the opinions or suggestions is someone who argued with "Nope". Very insightful, thanks.

Can't tune in all the time. So figured I'd become an advocate of something that might help me to get "efficiently" more up to date (currently an '89 again I bought 3 years ago).

What is it with all the thrashing, it was just an idea. Com'on...I am here because it IS about the people, all of you, and the love of our vans, and the freedom, and the culture, and you are it -- that's why we have our Vanagons and are here.

Roland
