Now I'm no oil filter expert but, so I've been told, some department store filters don't have the anti-drainback valves and others, such as Fram, have them but they don't work as well.

Years ago I used Fram filters and found that, for me anyway, I had a much more frequent problem with lifters bleeding down than I've had with Mann or Mahle filters.
