The 9-person Vanagons used a conventional single seat for the driver's side and a 2-person bench on the passenger side. The seat slides into the same tracks that the regular front seat uses and the seat back is designed to be supported by a steel bulkhead. I suppose you could install a bar of some some sort for that purpose as has been discussed here in the past. There should be info on this in the archives.

As for finding a 2-person front bench, you may want to post on the SyncroDoublecabs List as some of the listmembers had gone the reverse and removed the steel bulkhead to create a walkthrough interior.

Cheers,

BenT
