Subject: Informative oil filter post on the Samba
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

I posted here and on the Samba about differences among oil filters. Yes, it has been discussed before, but Dennis Haynes gave what I thought was insightful information that I hadn't heard before. What's more, a poster on the Samba gave even more info, and has pictures of the inside of the Mann W719/12 for the Vanagon. He also references a website some of us have seen where a guy cuts open a whole bunch of filters, though none of them Vanagon-specific.

Anyway, tencentlife on the Samba made some interesting observations about putting in the right filter and making your oil warning light go out.

This is also the guy who someone had asked about in reference to his engine rebuilds.
