Whenever applying a lubricant or anti-seize to a bolt or stud that's going into a blind hole (no opening on the other side (ie; like an exhaust bolt into a cylinder head casting), don't apply too much. Excessive fluid can't escape when the bolt is tightened. As you continue to tighten the bolt, the trapped fluid cannot compress, so it 'hydraulics' and will crack the casting. Just re-iterating this simple but important principle for the unknowing...
