the 1Z and AHU tdi engines will bolt up just fine at 50 % using diesel vanagon engine mounting parts. the next tdi engine , the ALH, which stats in 99, will not. they used the same inline four basic engine block, gas and diesel, from about 1975 to 1998. With the start of the New Beetle in 99 they finally went to a really different engine block.

so 'up to a 98 AHU" is the short answer.' Scott www.turbovans.com ----- Original Message ----- From: "Gilles Turmel" <gilles.turmel@SYMPATICO.CA> To: <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> Sent: Thursday, August 28, 2008 2:08 PM Subject: From 2.0L ABA to TDI
