sounds good Ben. if the engine ran, and is basically untouched, I naturally start thinking about the wiring.

and as far as any excuses go about changed wiring colors or whatever.............a hard working clever determined guy might be slowed down some by that, but not stopped, not stopped at all.

the exhaust being off is OK...........O2 sensor is not involved in cold starting. OBD-I or OBD-II........? if -II I wouldn't be surprised that the ecu would really want to see an O2 sensor, but it still should start.

and codes, is anyone looking for codes and seeing what they say. sometimes that'll point you right to the right spot.

sorry your guy is defensive or whatever you want to call it. you depend on him so I guess you can't rile him up .............but ........shoot.........I would HOPE like crazy that anyone who is really interested in seeing the thing fixed and running could put their ego aside and take input ! etc. Look for a hard working, clever guy with less ego.
