seriously people, aside from changing fuel lines.... PLEASE carry a NEW FIRE EXTINGUISHER...(new, means NEW, not the 20 year old westy extinguisher) in your vanagon, and MOUNT IT BEHIND THE DRIVERS SEAT. not thrown in your rear cabinet which will be the last place you want to have to look when your van is experiencing a engine fire.

cost of BRAND NEW fire extinguisher from wal-mart or other discount store: $20 max

time it takes to install behind your drivers seat: 15 mins max if your a retard

knowing that you can actually get to your NEW extinguisher in the event of a engine fire: priceless.
