Thanks Jim. On the note of spot checking cleaners...... My canvas was already pretty "mottled" and this is all kind of an experiment so I wasn't too concerned how it would end up looking, but whatta joke! I used strong mildew cleaner on the canvas. Didn't do anything to the mildew spots, but sure changed the colour! Anyhow.... --- :^) FWIW, (I'm sure there may be others with duct taped patches) by the time I cleaned/rinsed the area around the rip, I was well away from the duct tape gunk. I could have left that stuff alone and just washed/rinsed with soapy water to prep for patches. And FWIW, I used "Goo Gone" to try and clean the gunk. Kinda worked, but hardly worth the effort. Hand cleaner might work a lot better. Cheers, Neil.
