My wife and I cook complete meals inside all the time. No problem with lingering odors. I don't know why people think otherwise. Some foods need more ventilation during cooking than others but that is what windows and doors are for.

We just camped in one of our Vanagons for about 40 nights in a row. We cooked every meal inside. My wife makes a variety of flavorful dishes, Thai food being among our favorites.
