Mark, My wife is very anal about oders and messes of any kind. Before we got married I used to cook in my 78 all the time, but that bus wasn't as nice as our 87. Heck, I can't even cook fish in the house that has to be done outside on the grill. My thought process may be skewed by my wifes "training". I do remember though when cooking in the 78 it was common for the stronger smelling stuff to be absorbed by the blankets and clothes. She makes us pack dry bags for our dirty clothes so the campfire smell (which I love) doesn't stink up the van. I get teased often as our last name is Monk and like the character on the tv show Monk my wife has made me as germ/dirt paranoid as him. I still recommend the vacumn bag food as it allows us to have a great variety of foods available to us without the fuss and time needed for prep. Plus some food just taste better the second time around. If we know we are going camping soon we start making extra at dinner time so we can freeze the leftovers in the vacumn bags for meals on the go. I think I see a fuzz on the floor I need to go pick up :)
