I have two luxurious Volvo seats, complete with bun warmers, for Cunegonde. The underseat frames (but not tracks) are even correct width and length for Volkswagen tracks. BUT... my VW underframe seat tracks are welded to the seat hinge/seat back frame assembly! Are Volkswagen seat "U" tracks available separately? Is there anything else that will fit that can be cannibalized, without use of a welding torch, for this purpose? Or do I have to modify the Volvo tracks and bolt them to the wheel well sheet metal? I am content to lose the driver's side Westy swivel capacity, due to the greater height of the Volvo seat, which would interfere with steering wheel clearance. I also know it will take some elaborate maneuvering of the much larger Volvo seat to retain the passenger side swivel. But I want comfy, adjustable, secure seats, which the Westy seats are not, especially off-road. I'm in the Seattle-Portland OR area. I'll trade the intact and clean, if worn, old seats for help wth mounting the new ones. The driver's seat is a later model tan fabric captain's chair with arm rests; the passenger seat is original tan with brown and blue stripes.
