I always clean and lightly lubricate my fuel tank grommets, o-rings and lines/fittings with Dow Corning silicone grease. I pre-position the crossover tube first, and pop them in after tank installation. Only the AC filter/drier gets in the way those models so-equipped, and I'm still able to snake my arm past to reach them. I never had any problem with the straps. Mike B.
