Anyone that doesn't recognize 185 R14C as a 'real' and regular tire size just doesn't know what they are talking about. I can go 5 blocks from here and buy a new 185 R14C, 8 ply, in stock right on the shelf from Les Schwab Tires.

the more common similar size is 195/75 R 14 LT ........... don't get a "P" something tire- if P preceeds the tire size, as in P195/75 R14 .. that stands for 'Passenger car' .........not what you want.

Also be aware that some tire dealers are not vanagon-savvy enough to know that vanagons need 'vanaogon rated' tires, and not P passenger car tires. I'm sure others told you all this already anyway .
