Gotcha.

I poked at "the scab" somewhat with a screwdriver, but being a little more aggressive will yield more of the truth.

I thought of busting out my MIG and loading up some flux core wire to patch something on, but felt the rubber might get too hot and that I might be welding to metal that was too thin.

Maybe if I take my time patching it ..... or just check it, F'it and go.
