Crossing the Highway by Alfred E. Lord Tennisbum

oil changed, a tank of gas, the engine reving free, release the brake, and off we go,alas, the final drive for bus ... and me.

upon a road as I have never seen before, with pavement smooth and wide, and yet, through Fields Elysium of yore, a pleasant ride.

Day to Dusk, and now the Dark, And still the road is light, a sign ahead I see, a roadside park: always open.

in there, a shop with glowing light still stands and beckons all to bring their bus and soul to The Mechanic's hands, to be rebuilt again.
