OK, gotta chime in here. I have installed a few of these pop top strut kits and have had absolutely no problems. I learned way back when doing the first set that the distance from the pin on the bracket to the hole your gonna drill in the pop top HAS TO MEASURE THE EXACT DISTANCE of the strut your gonna place there no matter what the instructions say. Seems like common sense to me but I guess it's not. So regardless of what measurement the instructions say you need to have the two mounting points the SAME distance apart at the pin holes on the struts your gonna put there. Struts fully open of course ! So, yes Mark's instructions are bit convoluted and vague but geeze it's not rocket science !!!! I for one would like to thank Mark publicly for putting these kits together. I had thought of doing it myself but the time and complications of finding the proper struts and location was overwhelming. I am way too busy fixing broken Vanagons ! Thanks Mark !

>>>>>>>>Wow, Joy, It looks like several people have had trouble installing these struts. Thanks for your post. My standard struts are on the way, but now I'm a little worried about installing them.<<<<<<<<<
