Subject: Syncro-Envy!
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="Windows-1252"

All day yesterday I was "jones-ing" for this Syncro I followed while riding in a long (12hr) cycle race. A very nice one, big rack with shovel and High Lift jack up there, a Yakima bike rack, beautiful alloy wheels, extra lights, a side mount awning, a well kept medium blue paint job. Nice guy owner, but not aware of the Vanagon list. Oregon license plates.

We were out east of Mt. Hood, on smaller paved forest service roads. This Syncro was supporting a women's relay bike team and I was riding solo. Every few miles, I'd pass the Syncro as they changed riders or got water or whatever, and then a few minutes later, he'd go by me..With that Syncro going by so often, it gave me something to take my mind off the legs.

He had a bad water pump, I think..Or something causing a sound like gravel in a clothes dryer as he went past up all these mountain roads. I didn't really get a chance to talk to him, but I surely did like his van...and his women's bike team was OK, too. Don Hanson
