Nothing I know about. In the old days they said don't use synthetic in older engines due to potential seal leaks, but they've fixed whatever that was. I've used synthetic in all my cars for years and I only buy old cars....never had a leak but the engines last a long time. 330,000 miles on wbx syncro (can't verify original engine though, I've put a 100,000 on it) 275,000 on Mercedes E320 wagon (original engine, I've put 210,000 since owning it) Cheers, Anthony '89 Syncro GL (Hidalgo)
