When I did this a few weeks ago I just used a clamp on the first segment of hose running from the tank to the fuel pump. It kept gas from flowing but there was still about a cupful of gas in the lines that leaked out when I removed the clamps. Also, there will be gas dribbling out of the pump, the filter, etc. Be prepared, keep your mouth closed and wear goggles. Will be replacing fuel lines this weekend and have been keeping my tank nearly empty in expectiation. Would like to get some gas today, though while prices are low(3.49US/gal). Will I have problems with gas in the tank or is it better to be empty? Thanks. -- Michael in San Antonio 91GL AT 'Gringo' |
