I drove to the VW dealer in Norristown, PA today to order one of those new old stock radios for the Vanagon. I can't turn down a $25 to own an original equipment radio. Anyway there was a tan '83 parked in the repair lot. Wow, someone still getting dealer service for their Vanagon, it couldn't be a list member could it? I do know they have one "old timer" still in the shop there that loves those things. Of course I took the opportunity to peruse the lot. There some new Tiguans there. Nice car BUT with the usual VW stupidity the ones on the lot are $35K. OK, this is supposed to be an entry level mini-SUV to compete with Honda and Toyota. Gee, I can spend $10K more at the VW lot, how exciting. Then it dawned on me that that's how they'll probably kill their Routan the first year. I'll bet there will be NO "starting at $24K" vans on the lot, I'll bet they'll only be stocking the ones for $37K. VW really blows sometimes.... My new radio should be here Saturday. :) Bryan |
