<I have the battery in and now am cranking my newly installed engine, so I want to make sure I'm pumping fuel in the right direction.>
Connect a piece of hose to the outlet of the fuel pump, stick it a container and have some one crank it over to see if you are getting fuel. My pump has a + and - but are barely visable, almost worn completely off. I recently pulled my fuel tank for the vent line replacement, after reinstalling I cycled the fuel pump 5 times, then 6 time cranked it over-no start. Cranked and cranked and cranked (being careful not to over heat and fry the starter) and the damn thing just wouldn't start. Finally ran the battery down. Came out the next morning, turned the key and it fired right up. Jeff |
