My van was grounded for three months due to a bad coil (bought it new a couple months before it failed, and it took me a while to find it was the problem). Had weak spark, and the fuel pump was pumping one day, not pumping the next. I replaced my broken hall-sender with a brand new one for a 16-valve Golf/Jetta, pretty easy diy fix. It was about $170.00 + tax.
