hi, I'm pretty sure that of the wires that go to the side of the distributor ..........there's one that's a ground - although .........I might be thinking of the 1.9 wbxr ignition - I probably am ! ........ ....... I'm not sure it's that way on the 2.1.

if you had a remote starter switch, or a helper .....but the remote starter switch is better, you could watch for ignition ( the ole coil wire to the block test ) while you crank it on the starter and wiggle the wires that connect to the side of the distributor.
