oh you guys........ what's going on ? . Valve covers are the sort of oval covers that have wire bail clips to hold them on.......... they go on the very outer ends of the engine.......on top of each head. It has been this way for many, many decades.

Push Rod Covers.........not quite a perfect term ..........they could be call splash or rock guards for the Push Rod Tubes also....... those go underneath the engine, and protect the push rod tubes from foreign objects, and make it harder to get at the oil pressure switch under the left one. it has always been this way, and should remain this way. let's talk about something useful. Scott involved with VW opposed four engines since the 60's.

a valve cover is a valve cover, sheesh. and guess what's under them !!?..................the valve and the valve springs, and the rocker arms. The VW world seems to be rife ( is that a word ? ) with people making up new names or Korny names for car parts. and also............rife with Misinformation a bit much, at times.
