Daryl from AA Transaxle sent me one (thanks Daryl!) and I go it back on the shaft. Putting the ring on and the cover over it was a pain in the butt...

For the archives. After sliding the ring down the shaft and into the groove I slid the cover up and over the part of the ring. I used an open end wrench to apply even force to the cover and a pickle fork wedge to hold the open wrench in place. I "tapped" the pickle fork with a very small hammer and got 3/4 of the ring in the cover. I readjusted the wrench/wedge to bring pressure on the part of the ring not in the cover. With the pressure holding it together I used a small punch to 'tap' the ring and alternated with the wedge. It finally went all together.
