BTW,

The real reason I secrete keys on the Vanagon is to keep them away from opportunists (passersby) when I park in a remote spot and go for a 10 mile hike. It sure would be a bummer to return to the van and find that I lost my regular keys somewhere along that trail. The way I do it, I can still drive away and get gas if needed.

Murphy's law says I'd lose the regular keys when parked 30 miles from anything and in a place where there is no cell phone coverage.

Mike
