Remember that this is a reaction to Hurricane Ike and fears of short supply as the storm rips through the biggest refinery complex in the nation (Houston).

There are reports already of rationing here in northeast Florida.

The law of supply and demand will dictate the price.

Do you feel the same when the mutual fund shares you bought for $X per share are now worth X + 10?

Gasoline is a commodity. Prices change all the time. What someone paid for it last week has nothing to do with it.
