RE: DTV in US Yes, you will need a converter box. Inverter load will dpend on the draw from the converter. Other solutions: Cable connection, no converter needed. Or new TV w/DTV tuner. Or something like the Pinnacle Systems setup that plugs into the USB port on your laptop and and tunes in cable or antenna and tunes both analog and DTV and plays on your computer.
