there's two levels of new 02 sensor....... there's OE .....in which you get the connector plug ........those can be as high as $ 130, even more.

then there's the generic 3 wire Bosch, where you slice to your existing wires...........those are in the $ 40 to 55 range.

seems to me the propane test would confirm that it can put out a voltage when it's hot, but I don't see how that would be a very definitive test, not compared to measuring voltages like I just posted about , on a running engine, even on another car .......doesn't have to be on your vanagon.
