Ah crud. I just received a great deal on a power mirror to give me a matching set and finally rid my life of the basic floppy mirrors. Problem is just a few days before I received the new one (Thanks Curt) the one I had on the passenger side was mysteriously broken at the "elbow" - so it is floppy as well. So I took it apart to see what could be the issue. Well, it appears that the part inside that holds the mirror to the arm is a cast metal peice and it has snapped. I was hoping it would be a bolt of some kind and I could replace it. No that lucky I guess. So I'm going to try my luck with some JB Weld. I'll let you all know how it goes. I guess the point of my message is just an FYI for anyone who has the same issue. I had never heard of this happeneing before. So just so you know what you're looking at if it does happen - the peice is a cast peice not a threaded bolt. -- Thanks, Jeff '90 Carat (Grover) '86 (We call this one Parts) '78 Bus (Melissa) Patty's Bus |
