Hey Walter,   I recently did this job on an 87 Syncro.  To install the new bushing, I first found a bolt with a diameter silghtly smaller than the inside diameter of the bushing.  I then threaded a nut onto the bolt so that the distance between the bottom of the nut and bottom of the bolt was slightly less than the height of the bushing.  I then wrapped a bit of paper around the bottom of the bolt and slid the bushing on.  With the paper in place, the bushing held onto the bolt pretty well.  After that, I just lined up the bushing with the hole in the case and tapped it home.  I got lucky and it slid in with no problems on my first attempt.   good luck, jake

This likely goes without saying, but....

Maybe a piece of wood (hardwood?) and your bp hammer would be best for tapping in the new bushing.

For sure they're brittle.
