you could ease off the premium, that's for sure.
I have read this for years, and I preach it too.........
don't use premium fuel , except in Ferrari's perhaps.
if you need more octane than regular has, use mid-grade.
and .......supporting this ..........I just sold a rare Porsche 914-6 to a
guy for a customer of mine. The buyer owns a fancy German cars only repair
shop in Oakland , Ca.........like 5 techs and 13 bays..........been in
business for years............so a really serious German car shop and shop
owner.
So he might 'know'.
He too said ...........do not use premium.......it burns slower.
Use mid-grade if you need more octane than regular has.
And if you move up to a Subaru engine, or later inline 4 gas VW
four..........you can have 'smart ignition timing' with a knock sensor
.....so it's smart about how it reacts to whatever fuel you put in it.
that's rather obscene, $ 5,.52 per gal.
there are no refineries in Alaska though, right ?
so that means your north slope crude has to go to at least Seattle to get
refined into go-juice, and shipped back to you guys up there......
quite possibly.
I don't know if you import gas and diesel fuel from Canada .........I
suspect not.
They export crude though.
we're holding at about $ 3.83 per gal of regular here in Southern Oregon.
it's cheaper further north as we are at the southern end of the supply chain
from Puget Sound here in southern Oregon.
And I'm sure you know about hurricane Ike and the oil production that was
shut down for the storm.
That's mainly why prices jumped up recently I think.
