Essentially all of the California ECU's interchange with each other. Here's a post in a discussion with Karl Von Salzen and my results of research: ************** 071-906-021 * Bosch 0280 000 192 071-906 021 B * Bosch 0280 000 194 or 195 071-906-021 E * Bosch 0280 000 194 or 195 I looked in a very seldom used Bosch Fiche and found this: 0280 000 194, 195 Vanagon 2.0 California 09.80 - 12.82 VW Numbers 071 906 021 B or E Seems Bosch (without posting in equivalent VW Numbers in VW ETKA or the VW Parts Supersession Fiche) superseded the E back to the B. When I type in 071906021E in ETKA, it comes up with "Invalid Part Number". No supersession, nada, zip........ Now to make it even crazier, here's Bosch's supersession trail: 0280 000 192 (1980 Cal) USE 0280 000 194 0280 000 193 (1980 Cal) USE 0280 000 195 0280 000 195 (81-83.5 Cal) USE 0280 000 194(!!) In otherwords, the 071 906 021 and 071 906 021 E all supersede into ONE replacement ECU: the 071 906 021 B(!) ********* And there's yer answer.... -- Jim Thompson 84 GL 1.9 "Gloria" 84 Westfalia 2.1 "Ole Putt" 72 411 Station Wagon "Pug" oldvolkshome@gmail.com http://www.oldvolkshome.com jim@airheadparts.com *********************************** On Wed, Sep 24, 2008 at 4:54 PM, B.J.R. <beer_eighty@yahoo.com> wrote: > My ECU in my 82 CA westy needs replacing. > The bosch number on the current one is 071 906 021 B > What others are compatable with my Westy? > Anyone have a link? |
